Robin Williams, 1951-2014

He had many good roles in several good movies, and my guess is this one wouldn't crack most people's top five, but I have loved The Fisher King since I first saw it, in large part because of Mr. Williams work in it. He made me laugh, then he made me cry.
No one needs me to weigh in on this. Just a goddamn shame.....I really hope you can find peace.

  1. This one really hits hard. Robin Williams was a real presence in my childhood -- not just the classics like Aladdin and Mrs. Doubtfire and Dead Poets Society, but consensus-clunkers like Hook and Jack. Can hardly believe he's gone out the way he has, but I'll echo your sentiment: I hope he's able now to find some peace.

    1. My first thought was: this was some internet hoax, You know, like the one about Morgan Freeman's death and Jack Nicholson announcing his retirement; total bullshit. Really shocked to find out the opposite.
