Priceless Images, the Sequel

More home movies of the beautiful people letting their hair down and relaxing, circa 1965. This one may be my favorite as it has major crush of mine, Natalie Wood looking so fresh and fun. Also Tuesday Weld and Jane Fonda, I mean this video is a microcosm of Hollywood legends. Besides Lauren Bacall [ she was in the previous one at Rock Hudson's place, she must've been popular ] there is a glimpse of Judy Garland in a blue dress and Jennifer Jones and David Selznick smoking a pipe and scanning some pix. Speaking of smoking, did you notice something: Everyone smoked! I mean everyone. I also like the way it blends some old Hollywood with, what was at the time, new Hollywood. Besides the above actresses, I also saw Hudson, Ben Gazzarra and Tony Perkins. Love these old videos all these famous folk seem so....normal. Many more to come in the next few weeks. Me, the movie catholic

Films are my religion, and I worship at the local movie house. I've been obsessed with movies—especially the classics, their actors and creators--since about the age of 14. I used to attend movie theaters on a weekly basis. That was a long time ago, but I still love to go out to see films, new or classic. If there’s one thing that gets under my skin, it's people who say, “This is a movie you have to see in a theater" (any big, sweeping spectacle); or “You don't have to see that; let's wait for the video. It's not a big screen movie" (small dramas or comedies). To me, ALL films are meant to be seen on a big screen, in the dark, uninterrupted, surrounded by strangers who are there for the same thrilling experience I am. So this blog is about my love affair with the movies. I don't go to the movies as often now, because fewer movies that play on the big screen intrigue me as much as they did when I was at my moviegoing peak from 1975 to 1984. Please read this blog, and respond if you like. I love to hear from fellow cinephiles and fans who enjoy the moviegoing experience. I hope you enjoy reading this blog. I'm sure minutes will fly by like hours.
